A Big Game Hunter's Paradise! I've had the opportunity to hunt at a few Texas ranches over the past several years and say with certainty that the Comanchero-4 is my favorite. Both the land and the animals are managed exceptionally well, and the accommodations are second to none. There are a large variety of exotic species, and some of the biggest trophy Whitetail deer you will find. Rick and all of his guides are very knowledgeable, and emphasize safety first. They will do their absolute best and then some to get you on your animal. Back at the ranch house, you can expect a great atmosphere around the bar while re-living your hunting stories and hearing some new ones. The meals are really spectacular, and they don't skimp on anything... if you leave the table hungry, that's your fault. Some of my best hunting memories were made at the Commanchero-4 Ranch, and I cannot recommend this place enough. Top shelf is the phrase that first comes to mind when I think about the comanchero 4 ranch. I have hunted all over North America for over 20 years and I have yet to find an operation as well organized, and as high quality as the C4. I originally found out about the C4 from, who at the time was a fellow business owner and client of mine, and who would quickly become a dear friend and mentor to me. This person is none other than the ranch owner, Rick McCue. Rick is a builder of custom fine homes and is the very best at his craft. I own and operate a water well drilling business. I work with Rick on his many projects. During a casual conversation about hunting after a job site meeting one day, Rick told me he owned a ranch in Texas and I should give it a try. I was skeptical at first having never hunted Texas or a high fence ranch. I didn't know what to expect. One thing I knew about Rick McCue and the type of guy he is, I could take any recommendation he made and count on it. Later that year I received my draw results for the various states I applied in. It had drawn no tags. So I figured what the heck, I'd give Texas a try. So I booked a hunt at the C4 with a few friends. From the 1st day I arrived at the ranch until today, As I write this review, the C4 has never ceased to impress me. I have taken over 20 animals on the Ranch ranging from huge whitetails to trophy class exotics. All have been exceptional quality, and trophies of a lifetime. Along with long-lasting memories to go with them. But it's not just the quality of the game that's impressive, It's literally everything about the place!. The accommodations, The food, The stands, The property. All of it is maintained to the highest of standards. On top of all that you have the outstanding guides who put countless hours into managing the animals and setting up stands. I've made over a 1/2 a dozen trips to the C4, and many more are planned. I have yet to find a place that can rival it. I always look forward to the next hunt there. When you book with the C4, you can be rest assured that your hard-earned money will be well spent. You will be well taken care of. You will have the very best opportunities at whatever game you seek, and you will leave wanting to come back again and again. McCue Family, I’ve been coming to the Comanchero-4 Ranch for 7 years now. Since the first time I came to the ranch to now, the trophy quality and quantity has exponentially grown. This is a testament to your knowledge and expertise in wildlife management. Over the 7 years I’ve been visiting the ranch, the comradery and memories continue to grow. Between the standard hunts and the participation in Wounded Warrior hunts, I’m met quite a few of people that I can proudly say have become good friends. The ranch has become my “happy place” and a place where there is no pressure, the ability to hunt at your speed, the way you feel is best, stress free and I’ve never left the ranch disappointed.

I had so much fun this past December at Comanchero 4. While my dad has been there multiple times, I have always wanted to tag along. When I opened my Christmas present from him, I was in shock! "We are leaving tomorrow morning", my dad said. I couldn't even believe it. This was my first time in Texas. Rick made us feel right at home. The ranch is really cool, there is a huge game room where I played pool every night while waiting for dinner. I shot my first doe and first buck while visiting the ranch. There is a huge variety of game that you don't see in Connecticut. This was the best hunting experience I have ever had. I can't wait to go back. Thanks Rick, for letting me have this experience.

The time I had on numerous occasions at Commanchero 4 Ranch will be memories that I hold near and dear for a lifetime. I have never experienced such a trip as I have as this. The quality of deer you have on your ranch exceeds all expectations I had and are beyond comparison to any trips I have been on in the past. From the top notch ranch vehicles that are comfortable and accommodating to the impeccable service and care you gave not only me but my 8-year-old son. The quality of your ranch is impeccable as is the food you serve. The technique Erica and Rick use with the smoked wood and mesquite culinary craft is exquisite. It was such a pleasure and enjoyment spending time with everyone in the amazing game room which supplied out of this world storytelling, fun and laughter after a full day of hunting. When I brought my 8-year-old son I never fathomed what a heartfelt moment it would be when I witnessed my son hunting and killing his first trophy white tail deer. When he looked at me with tears and amazement in his eyes, I knew we would be talking about this for a lifetime. He will cherish his mount for years to come and always have this story to tell. I can’t thank Erica and Rick enough for an experience that we will always remember and treasure from every aspect of our trips to Comachero 4 Ranch. You provide a fascinating and incredible Texas experience.

I enjoyed staying and hunting at the Comanchero Ranch. The accommodations in the magnificent ranch house were truly first class. There was a large, well managed herd of trophy whitetails on the property as well as trophy black buck, axis deer and red stag. I saw many whitetail bucks over 150 inches from the numerous tower blinds that were on the property. A professional cleaning and processing area, with a walk in cooler, was on the property to process all the animals taken during the hunt. Having hunted across the country and around the world, the Comanchero Ranch is a whitetail hunters paradise.

We have been guests at the ranch several times and the accommodations are fantastic. Rick and Erica have gone out of their way to make us feel at home. The hunting, as well as animal viewing is incredible. We are looking forward to another hunt at the ranch this year. We were fortunate to be at the ranch during the Wounded Warrior hunt this past year. The two young men who hunted at Comanchero were treated to a wonderful hunt and it was our privilege to be a part of their experience.
